Washing machine water leak repair
Water under the machine? Do not leave it. A small leak reaches the control board or ruins the laundry-room floor, and the source is usually a cheap part.
The hard part about leaks is that water shows up somewhere other than where it started. It runs along the metal frame and drips from the nearest low point, so you see it at the front when it actually came from the back.
That is why we do not start by swapping parts. We run the machine in stages — fill, wash, drain, spin — and watch exactly when the water appears. The stage it shows up in tells us the component.

Common causes
- A torn or perished door gasket, or something small lodged in it
- A loose or split inlet or drain hose
- A blocked detergent drawer, or simply too much detergent
- A failed tub seal behind the drum
- A crack in the plastic tub itself

Usually yes. Patching does not survive the heat and constant tumbling, and the gasket is a reasonably priced part compared with a repeat visit.
Two common reasons: too much detergent creating excess foam, or scale blocking the drawer channel. Both are usually fixed without any parts.
