Washing machine door won't open — door lock repair
Laundry trapped inside? Do not force the door — breaking it turns a cheap part into an expensive repair.
Front-loaders use an electric interlock that keeps the door shut while the machine runs — an important safety feature, given the drum holds water and spins fast. The lock only releases once the board confirms the water has drained and the drum has stopped.
When a door sticks, it is either the lock itself failing, water still sitting in the machine so it refuses to release, or the board never sending the release signal. We open it safely without breaking anything, then deal with the cause.
